You’ve been posting photos and stories of Nas in your social media, can you share with us the process behind?

For most of my life I’ve never thought of myself as a cat person. I was always in the other camp.

It took Nas for me to realize the magnificence of felines and how attracted I am to their temperament.

Nas is an easy subject. That’s why I find myself posting pictures of him more and more.

What camera/medium do you use?

All the photos featured here are taken with a Samsung S20 Ultra.

Can you share your thoughts on mobile photography?

People have been saying this for a few years now, the best camera is the one you have with you. I’m just happy that the cameras in our phones have been keeping up.

Also, I work with professional camera gear to earn a living, I dislike bringing said gear on vacations or even on a daily basis when it’s not needed. I’m perfectly happy to just bring out my phone to snap images on a typical day.

Is it faster and easier to compose with a phone?

The experience is faster overall. One swipe and you’re good to go.

With all curiosity, how do you color-grade these images? Any app recommendation?

I’m a VSCO boy through and through. Film look all the way.

We also love how you were able to capture the expressions, can you share some tips?

Nas Catbanua, his full name, has a fantastic Resting Bitch Face. I just work the camera. He does the rest.

Can you share memorable moments with Nas? Or some fond memories of Nas being your video editing buddy?

I can tell you that almost exactly three years ago, he came up to me in my patio as a confident, affectionate stray. It took me many many months and a nasty cigarette burn from an unknown human for me to decide to adopt him full time.

He has brought nothing but joy to me and my family and we are thankful to have him.

Lastly, since we’re in ECQ, any message to fellow creatives during the pandemic?

Keep safe. Wash hands. Learn new things. Chill. We’re gonna pull through this, and if we don’t – we all die together.
